Kimbo Slice & Mike Imber Donate Boxing Gloves to Autism Society.

When Kimbo Slice and his manage and long time friend, Mike Imber embarked into a 4th professional boxing match, not only did they want to win but they also, had another agenda which is entirely selfless and a way to give back to the community. They wanted to raise awareness to Autism and also promote the Autism Society.

True, Kimbo Slice for a 4th time in a row came out triumphant as he took down Brian Green in a three punch combo on the fourth round. But furthermore, Kimbo Slice and Mike Imber have managed to become active members in the Autism Society and Spreading Autism awareness. In fact, Kimbo Slice and Team Kimbo recently donated the same pair of boxing gloves to ASA that he used in his latest boxing victory. Along with the boxing gloves an undisclosed money contribution was extended as well.

Some maybe are asking why is a boxer and his promoter so involved in charity and in Autism Awareness in particular. Well, first of all, Kimbo Slice isn’t just a fighting machine. He’s a human being with a heart and he’s a father and he knows how this disorder can affect any child including his own youngest son. This moves him even further into raising awareness and funds for research on this disorder.

Mike Imber, Kimbo Slice friend and promoter is equally as moved for though he’s a business man, he’s also a human being with feeling and is truly wholeheartedly involved in spreading awareness on Autism. Kimbo Slice is not only his client but his best friend and he has his back across the board…

When they were asked why they were donating the boxing gloves to ASA and so involved in Autism Awareness as well as other charities, Mike Imber also know as “Icey” responded: “Although Kimbo Slice has a very public image as fighter, most people don’t know about the work Kimbo has done for charities in the past. Contributing to the Autism Society of America became a priority for Kimbo immediately after his youngest son was diagnosed with autism.”

In conclusion, both Kimbo Slice and Mike Imber encourage all people to donate to this very important cause. They explain that you need not to be a professional boxer or any of the likes. They emphasize that any donation, no matter how small helps. Sounds like this dream team are not all about the money but promoting real change and encouraging fans to do the same.

Mike Imber Interview on Kimbo Slice

>

In a recent interview, Kimbo Slice’s long time friend and fight promoter Mike Imber opened up about Kimbo’s past and commented about his future. Imber admitted that while he didn’t have a favorite video of Kimbo’s fighting, he did think one of Kimbo’s best street fights was against an undefeated Peurto Rican boxer at the time. Of this he said, “he (the boxer) was prob the most skilled opponent he (Kimbo Slice) had and just some really hard shots were thrown.” Turns out Kimbo ended the fight when he caught the boxer with an elbow that cut him really bad.

Mike Imber went on to talk about how Kimbo handles himself and how it was such an asset to his career as he continued to grow popular. “I think it was kimbos personality that transformed his image into a positive brand name, said Imber. And he went on to add, “He (Kimbo) handled the attention and the stress that comes with it…from there it was cbs, showtime, spike and the UFC that made him a household name.” We thought that was quite an insightful comment of admiration and really showed the kind of close friendship the two have.

The short interview concluded with Mike Imber commenting of Kimbo’s future both in boxing and in Hollywood. As some of you may know, Kimbo has appeared in several movies lately including Scorpion King 3. “I see kimbo over the next year or 2 to get better as a boxer and put himself in a good position to have a big fight with a big name which the public wants,” Imber noted. He went on to talk about how Kimbo’s career in Hollywood has really taken off. And how the crew recently teamed up with Kevin Connelly to work on a project about the life story of Kimbo Slice, which they want to make into a theatrical release.

Kimbo Slice & Mike Imber Trains In Miami, FL

Kimbo Slice & Mike Imber Trains In Miami, FL for every boxing match. Of course, when it is time to fly to wherever the fight is located at they do go several days in advance and continue to train on location. For the most part all of Slice’s training is held in Miami, FL his hometown. Imber is completely supportive of this decision and it only seems right to train there.

At this moment the location of the gym has yet to be released, but it seems to be a good idea not to do so. I am sure Slice wants his privacy while training and doesn’t want any distractions either.

John David Johnson, world class boxing coach, has been training with Slice for a few months now. His goal is to continue improving Slice’s boxing skills and techniques. Everyone already knows that he has a powerful punch, but Slice needs to improve his endurance and learn about what boxing is all about.

Manager Mike Imber Thinks Kimbo Slice Should Work His Way Up In Boxing

Manager Mike Imber Thinks Kimbo Slice Should Work His Way Up In Boxing. Imber is trying to do what is best for his client and friend. Many people are pushing for Slice to go against bigger names in the boxing world, but it’s not ideal for Imber to allow Kimbo to do so. He feels that the two has learned their lesson when they were heavily involved in the MMA world.

In response to Slice going against more popular boxers Imber stated, “It’s from the ground up with boxing. You learn from your mistakes in MMA. He’s taking his time with it. I just help guide the way. But when they feel he is ready, he’s going to take those steps gradually.”

Currently, Slice matches are those of four rounds, but when he gains more skills and knowledge of how boxing works he will move his way up from the four rounds to six then eight rounds. Imber tells, “Obviously people want to see him fight huge names, but it will all happen in due time. He’s got a lot to learn and he’s only getting better. It’s a process.”
